Amanda was at the Goffs UK Premier Sale in Doncaster on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. With the assistance of our bloodstock agents, Peter and Ross Doyle we purchased two exciting new prospects for the 2019 season. The first yearling purchased was a chestnut filly by No Nay Never out of Minnie Hazel and our second purchase was a bay colt by Gutaifan out of Ride For Roses consigned by Yeomanstown Stud.

Zzoro and Port of Call win on consecutive days at Epsom! Zzoro was ridden to victory by Jason Watson at Epsom on Monday (27th August) to win well for owners Mr & Mrs Cotton and Mr & Mrs Conway. Port of Call made it two on the bounce at Epsom on Tuesday (28th August) under Charlie Bishop for owner Alan Spence.

A good double for the team today from Newmarket and Goodwood! Count Otto won the last race at Newmarket, the ‘Invest In Calphormin Handicap’ under Andrea Atzeni. The second winner came from our local track, Goodwood. Astromachia, owned by John Connolly and Odile Griffiths won the ‘Alice Sherrard Handicap’ under Joe Fanning.

Ridden by Jason Watson, Lightning Charlie won the ‘ABF The Soldiers Charity Handicap’ at Brighton. He settled well in third, closed on the leading pair going well over 2f out, switched to the right when there was little room and took the lead from Wotadoll in the last half furlong to win well. We are delighted for his owners, the Lightning Charlie Partnership and Mark Treadwell who looks after him at home.

We were pleased to see an article by Nancy Sexton in Wednesday’s Racing Post about the exciting young stallion ANODIN. Nancy spoke to Vincent Rimaud of Haras du Quesnay Stud in Deauville where Anodin has stood since 2015. We have a two year old gelding, JOSHADAM (Anodin x Aunt Julia) who we purchased at the Guineas breeze up sale. He ran a promising race on debut at Ascot in July and there is 100% available for sale in this gelding.
