Mary is a Laboratory Technician at Sussex Equine Hospital and has been a regular visitor to Coombelands for many years. Mary has worked at Sussex Equine Hospital for 12 years, before this she worked in various NHS hospital pathology laboratories for 40 years.

We were thrilled to have a double yesterday at Doncaster and Newbury! The first of those was Inhale who won the British EBF Premier Fillies’ Handicap over seven furlongs under Graham Lee at Doncaster.

Tinto wins at Bath! Ridden by Jason Watson, Tinto won the Sky Sports Racing Virgin 535 Handicap in a photo finish. He made headway over two furlongs out, challenged just inside the final furlong and ran on to lead in the final strides to win by a shoulder. Congratulations to the Derek James, Steven Jenkins and Michael Quigley and well done to Thierry Decherf who looks after Tinto at home.

We are delighted that Count Otto got his head in front and won the ‘Sir Michael Pickard Handicap’ for the Count Otto Parntership at Epsom on Thursday evening. Carrying top weight under Pat Dobbs, he made progress up the outside two furlongs out and ran on to lead in the last 100 yards to win the six furlong contest by half a furlong.

We are delighted that Frontispiece won at Newbury for the Frontispiece Partnership on Tuesday. Ridden by Kieran Shoemark he made the running and led until one furlong out when he was joined by Mackaar but he rallied and stayed on to win by a shoulder. Congratulations to everyone involved and well done to Nigel Dunger who looks at Frontispiece at home.

Open Wide won at Windsor on Monday evening in the Winsdor Sprint Series Qualifer. He won the ‘Marathonbet Sportsbook Handicap’ by half a length from Sunsprite. He is a horse who loves Windsor, in his eight runs at the course he has won twice and never been out of the first three.

Zhui Feng will be running in the Royal Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot on Wednesday. He won the race in 2017 for owners John Connolly and Odile Griffith and will be ridden by Pat Dobbs for this year’s renewal.
READ MOREWe are looking forward to Epsom tomorrow, Lavender’s Blue will be running in the Oaks for owner and breeder Mr Andersson. Her dam, Beatrice Aurore also owned by Mr Andersson finished sixth in the race in 2011.
Lavender’s Blue is an exciting filly who won on debut at Newmarket in April and was beaten a neck by Queen Power at Newbury in a hot Listed race earlier this month.
Annie Angel will go through the ring at Doncaster on Thursday, she is Lot 846 at the Goffs UK Spring HIT/P2P sale. She won a Mares’ Handicap Chase convincingly at Fontwell by six lengths earlier this month (8th May). She jumps well and is ready to run through the summer months and would make an ideal point-to-point horse.
