Our all-weather gallops are open for hire, please book online as usual. We will continue to follow the Government’s guidelines and will provide hand sanitisers for your use. Please make sure you remain two meters apart and only come to Coombelands with people from your household/family. The swimming pool remains closed for hire at the moment but we hope to make it available again from June.
These colts were purchased as yearlings and were being prepared for the breeze-up sales by Christiano who produced Count Otto, Tinto and Populaire. Due to the sales being postponed, the colts have come to Coombelands to be prepared for their first races. They are currently in work and can be seen working up the ‘valley gallop’ in the videos below.
We are delighted that ‘Ahorsecalledwanda’ won under Joey Haynes at Lingfield on Saturday for the Mason Brown Patnership on only her second start. They tracked the leader for the first part of the race before taking the lead two furlongs out, she then quickened away from the field and stayed on strongly to win by five lengths.
A double at Kempton for Transition and Double Legend! We are delighted that Transition won the ’32Red Casino Handicap’ at Kempton this evening for owner Prince Khalid Abdullah under Joe Fanning and Double Legend defended his title to win back to back renewals of the ‘Bet At racingtv.com Handicap.’
We are thrilled that Manucci won at Fontwell on Boxing Day in the Juvenile Maiden Hurdle. Ridden by Josh Moore he handled the extremely heavy ground well and jumped superbly from the front to win convincingly. He will now run in a Triumph Hurdle trial. Congratulations to owners John Connolly and Odile Griffith and well done to Eric Keane who looks after Manucci at home.
We are delighted that Transition won at Lingfield this afternoon for owner Prince Khalid Abdullah. Having stepped up in trip to run over one mile he won the ‘Ladbrokes Where The Nation Plays EBF Novice Stakes’ under Joe Fanning.
A bright and sunny morning provided us with excellent conditions to show our new horses working on the gallops on Saturday before our Autumn Parade. Alfie Solomons and Saaheq worked on our valley all-weather gallop showing themselves to be in good form having settled in well since being purchased at the Tattersalls Horses In Training Sale.
Having finished second in his first race this year at Chepstow in September, Astromachia went one better last night to win the ’32Red.com Handicap’ at Kempton. Ridden by Joe Fanning, he made quick headway to lead from six furlongs out, asserted inside the final two furlongs and was ridden out in the final furlong to win comfortably.
